Here's a simple recipe for a delicious home-made tartiflette. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ingredients <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

  • 1.5 kg potatoes (firm-fleshed variety)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 200 g smoked bacon<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 200 ml double cream<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 1 Reblochon cheese (about 500 g)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • 50 g of butter<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Salt and pepper to taste<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    1. Preparation of ingredients :<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
        \n
      • Peel the potatoes and cut into slices about 5 mm thick.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Chop the onions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Cut the Reblochon cheese in half to make two discs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        1. Cooking potatoes :<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
            \n
          • Cook the potato slices in a large pan of boiling salted water for about 5 minutes, until slightly tender. Don't overcook them, as they will finish cooking in the oven.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

            1. Preparing the filling :<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

              • While the potatoes are cooking, fry the lardons in a pan over medium heat until lightly browned. Add the chopped onions and cook until translucent and slightly caramelised. Remove from the heat.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                1. Assembling the tartiflette :<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
                    \n
                  • Generously butter a casserole dish.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  • Arrange a first layer of potatoes in the dish, then cover with half the bacon and onion mixture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  • Place one of the Reblochon discs on top. You can cut it into pieces if necessary so that it covers the entire surface.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  • Repeat with a second layer of potatoes and the remaining bacon and onion mixture.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                  • Finish with the second Reblochon disc, rind side up.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

                    1. Cooking the tartiflette :<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

                      • Preheat your oven to 200\u00b0C (gas mark 6-7).<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                      • Spread the heavy cream over the top of the dish.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
                      • Place the tartiflette in the oven and bake for around 25-30 minutes, until golden brown and the cheese has melted.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
