In August, the Courchevel doesn't slow the pace. From baroque music in churches to high altitude auctions, sporting challenges and village festivals, the mountains can be experienced at a walking pace. As the weeks go by, one event follows another to create a summer score that's as varied as it is convivial.
On 12 August, the church of Saint-Bon will be decked out in the dazzling sounds of the 18th century with the Ensemble Sarbacanes, a quintet of wind instruments and harpsichord, winner of the EEEmerging+ programme and acclaimed by the critics.

The following day, the Camerata de Monte-Carlo, a string orchestra without a conductor, performs a kaleidoscope concert at the Auditorium Gilles de La Rocque (Courchevel 1850).
On 20 August, the young Franco-Swiss pianist Jean-Baptiste Mathulin will deliver a recital as virtuoso as it is accessible, combining Ravel, Tchaikovsky, Liszt and Saint-Saëns.
Courch'Lanta and large gatherings
On 13 August, Courchevel Le Praz welcomes Courch'Lantathe Alpine family version of the famous TV game show. From totem-pole shooting to orienteering and paddle-boarding, the day promises to be as much fun as it is challenging, with a convivial barbecue to round it all off.
On 15 and 16 August, the Tovets festival in Courchevel 1850 invites you to take a stroll through the shopkeepers' flea market, garage sale, concerts and children's entertainment.
Further down the road, on 22 August, the Courchevel Le Praz family fair will feature a host of inflatable structures, a draisière course and a mini-disco to round off the day. On 23 and 24 August, the Courchevel Village (1550) festival will be in full swing, with a country-style meal, concerts, popular dance, pétanque tournament and garage sale.
